Important: The Illinois notary public application must be completed on the Secretary of States online application. Paper applications are no longer accepted, unless you are applying as a non-resident. Non-residents are still required to complete a paper non-resident application.

The SOS online application requires the following to be uploaded:

• Notary Public Course Certificate
• Notary Public Bond (I 264)
