Online Application Instructions
Starting August 1, 2024 all notary commissions are now processed directly through the Secretary of State's website. The following instructions are meant to help guide you through the online application.

If at any time you need help completing the application, please call the state's office directly. The number for the Secretary of State's office is (217) 782-7017.

General Information
If you took your course with us, you can find your notarial certificate on the welcome page of the course. Course certificates are awarded once you have completed the course and passed the final exam.

If you have an email already on file with the Secretary of State, you are required to use the same email address. Using the wrong email will result in an error.

You will receive an authorization code in the email you provided from the previous page. If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk folder.

If you previously answered yes to performing electronic notarizations, you must also upload your electronic signature.
Your bond information and document are provided by us via email. If you did not receive the email, confirm you completed our online wizard and purchased a bond package.

State Filing Fee and Processing
The state filing fee is now paid directly to the Secretary of State. All of our bond package prices have been reduced to reflect this change.

Once you submit your online application with payment on the state's website you will receive your notarial certificate within 24-48 hours. Please forward us your notary certificate so we can make your notary stamp.
