Once approved, you will receive your notary certificate from the Secretary of State, and the supplies you purchased from us. Please check your certificate to make sure all information is correct.
Once we receive your completed application and no errors are found, we will bond your application. We will then mail your application, copy of your driver's license or state id, and the $15 filing fee to the Secretary of State's office for processing.

• The application must be the original copy, not a photocopy
• Both the Notarial Oath and the Notary Public Bond sections of the
application must be signed by the applicant and both signatures
must match each other.
• Applications must be notarized by another valid IL notary. The signature of the notary must match the name on their notary stamp.

The following steps must be completed to become or renew as a notary:
Be a resident of Illinois, or worked/maintained a business in Illinois and reside in a qualifying border state, for 30 days.
18 years of age or older.
Not be convicted of a felony.
Be able to read and write the English language
Not have a previous Notary commission revoked.
Be a U.S. citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence.
